one could deduce this to be about fending off bigotry, the wolves resembling rabid injustice - and ill definitely take that.
but, if you know rasha at all, you'll know a wolf/dog is his representative animal, and i often display him as a wolf or with wolves by his side. so, my starting point was actually for this to be about the internalized struggle. rasha himself resembles the colorful desire to be who he truly is, and the wolves are also him, but they are just the learned instincts of fitting in, laying low and conforming. the 'inner trained dogs...' they are programmed to attack what is different in order to protect from harm, because lord knows how painful it can be to be yourself.

but now, he must eradicate those coping mechanisms, as much as they mean to defend. because a better, more vibrant life lies ahead.
