For nigh on three years, Chris Minns has directed NSW Police to prioritise one thing and one thing alone. Is it any wonder that gangland violence is out of control when the primary job of the police has become prosecuting watermlelon stickers and student protests? www.smh.com.au/politics/nsw...

Wading into this late, but GLP-1 receptor agonists (Ozempic and friends) are a preferred drug for dual therapy in type 2 diabetes (along with first-line metformin). There remains substantial stigma around these medications. I don't think it is responsible for progressives to contribute to that.

Every few hours some new version of "revalations" will emerge, each one mutually exclusive with the last, and every single time the audience eats it up. Not a trace of incredulity, and just the most noxious commentary I've ever seen. And the only common thread is hatred of women.

The most begrudgingly written article of all time. In it, Mr Stewart asks some important questions - "When does firing at people without double-checking that they are the enemy become criminal?" - but does not then apply those questions to, for example, the killing of 20,000+ children.

I will likely write an essay on this soon, but I have always regarded as backwards the claim that we should forget about the problem of antisemitism altogether just because spurious allegations of antisemitism are commonly launched at the Palestinians and the pro-Palestine movement.

There are many reasons this is ill-convinced. Here’s one: if and when this goes pear-shaped, the backlash will see antisemitism surge in the community. If a member of the CSG commits an extrajudicial execution — the same way ICE has done in the US — the damage to our cohesion may never be repaired.

I think it is correct to say that some criticism of Israel does cross the line into antisemitism. It is true that some of the edgier posts do invoke antisemitism conspiracies. I think this is why leaders of pro-Palestine movements need to lead by example and embody humanist universalist values.

To live as a Palestinian is to be told, every single day of your life, that you're subhuman, that you're inbred, that you're an animal, that you deserve to die — all things that have actually been said to my face — and then to be branded an extremist for daring to respond.

And it’s worse than you think, because this appears to violate state law. The Library Act 1939 (NSW), as amended in June 2026 by the Minns Labor government, prohibits these ideological bans. Many might wonder why Israel gets yet another exception under Australian law — this does not serve cohesion.

If your work is plagiarised and fabricated and you're publicly complaining about "DEI" on the basis of a singular contested example of a Black academic accused of plagiarism, it's clear enough to read that the sin is not the act but the colour of the person doing it.
