Kala Paint is out! I'm @olawson.bsky.social , professional artist for 15 years, then game dev, now wrote the painting software I wish I'd been using all this time. GPU-run creamy brushes, no subscription, no gen AI crap, hand-coded with ideas from artists in our Discord, and more added weekly!

Petit dessin en marge : les mots oubliés par le copiste sont tirés par un homme, qui les file à un autre, caché entre deux lignes pour les insérer à leur juste place... Plus classe qu'un astérisque ! Walters Ms. W.102, f. 39v, vers 1300

I've just resigned from my job as a safety engineer. You have no idea how certain the entire industry is that safety engineering is leading to humanity being wiped within the next 8 years, this is *far too much* for me to handle. Now #OpenToWork in safety engineering!

If I learn the collective sum of every thing ever written, filmed, painted, sung, danced, mimed or scratched into a tablet about garlic, can I then say that I have experienced the incredible aroma of the early stages of sauteing garlic?

You know what we don't talk enough about? Queen & Annie Lennox/David Bowie rehearsing 'Under Pressure' in 1992. So much going on! Everyone's clothes, Bowie with a lit cig throughout, where Annie PROPER GOES FOR IT, George Michael singing along in the background. The amazing vocals. Yes, please!

Took a bit of a break from drawing, was able to come back with a tree drawing. I found this tree standing with its rock in Cannock Chase Forest. Lots of beautiful ancient oaks still hanging around there and summertime is really beautiful in England, it’s hard not to draw it Graphite on paper

Can you afford to release your album on vinyl? I work for a small vinyl pressing plant, our customers are mostly independent artists doing small-run pressings. My job is advising people on how it all works. Here's a short thread outlining the very basic costs of pressing and releasing an album:
