I believe humanity always lives in its folklore. I believe humanity is stories. Those stories walk and those stories need places to live. Those tales are how we relate to landscape. Those tales are how we connect to each other, how we build community and how we resist. That is why Hookland exists. For in the hopeless moment when all the territory is darkening bruise, that’s when we need stories and re-enchantment the most.

This is my favorite Sam Neill movie. If you haven't seen it, you should find it and watch, it's wonderful. I loved Sam Neills take on life, the stories about his pigs and his tales of farm life in New Zealand. A non 'Starry' movie star, a good human. Travel well Sam.
