🇮🇹 Rammendo della cucitura di una tasca. Il rammendo è fatto con tre capi di filo da ricamo arancione che disegnano un albero spoglio. Ho usato punto satin e punto fantasia. Si vede con il filo azzurro un precente rammendo.

🇮🇹Alla Biennale ho visto un’opera che era un ricamo che ricalcava la stampa della stoffa. Mia nonna si sarebbe sganasciata dal ridere. 😅 Ma visto che cose del genere adesso sono Arte ho deciso di mettermi anche io a ripassare le stampe per attaccare una toppa. 😂 #rammendo

All’interno del quadrato ci sono i primi punti di ordito del rammendo a tela. Il rammendo prosegue con piccolissimi punti filza per rinforzare un’area vicina. L’ago è infilato sui punti filza.

Inside the square there are the first warp points of the darning. The mend continues with very small running stitches to reinforce a nearby area. The needle is inserted on the running stitches.
P.S. I'm never sure of the English stitches translation. If you don't understand, tell me so I can try to explain myself better.

Boro is when repairs become the #textile. This late-Meiji Japanese #indigo futon cover (c.1900) shows what repair can become over generations. Every true #boro textile is as unique as the stories behind it. So happy I got to spend time with this lovely piece. My studio feels different without it.

Repair and reuse span cultures and generations, and the wonderful darning on this 18th-century French grain sack is such a lovely example. I love holding textiles like these and imagining the times they’ve seen.

🇮🇹 #Rammendo calzini, alcuni per 3-4 volte, anche perché ogni oggetto non buttato dovrebbe contribuire a rallentare il riscaldamento globale. Sembra di vuotare l’oceano con il contagocce.

🇮🇹➡️🇬🇧⬇️ Quattro calzini color antracite con rammendi visibili di vari colori (blu elettrico, blu di Prussia, rosa antico chiaro, verde e azzurro). Non si vede in foto ma c’è anche del giallo su un paio di punte. Tecniche miste; punto festone in tondo, rammendo a tela preciso, rammendo a
tela creativo (per non dire caotico).

🇮🇹Tempo fa avevo postato l’inizio di questo lavoro fatto con gli avanzi di stoffa. Doveva servirmi per fare pratica di alcune tecniche di #cucito (cucitura francese e sbieco sugli angoli). Benché sia un imparaticcio non è male e forse potrei usarlo come tovaglietta. O come fazzoletto da testa. 🤔

🇮🇹➡️🇺🇸⬇️ Un quadrato di lino su un tavolo in una cucina. Il quadrato è composto da due rettangoli esterni di lino azzurro e un rettangolo interno fatto con varie pezze rettangolari più piccole e di dimensioni diverse marroni e ocra. Il rettangolo di stoffa è rifinito con uno sbieco bianco e beige.

🇮🇹 #Rammendo da millemila punti. Questa felpa era già stata rammendata a tema “nuvole e pioggia” alcuni anni fa. Adesso ha bisogno di nuovi rammendi. Mi è stato chiesto di continuare con lo stesso tema decorativo e così “piove senti come piove”. 🌧️ E con questo caldo il solo pensiero è rinfrescante. 🥵

🇮🇹🇬🇧🇺🇸 In questa foto si vede una felpa grigia in fase di rammendo. In alto si vedono delle toppe esterne a forma di nuvola e cucite a punto festone. Sotto si vedono i piccoli punto filza color azzurro sfumato per tenere insieme il bordo inferiore. Ancora più in basso si vede l’interno di una toppa con il buco, il rovescio dei punti e il nodo di chiusura.

🇮🇹Mia figlia usa tantissimo questa maglia che era di seconda mano e pian piano si sta sfibrando. Io la #rammendo poco alla volta a punto maglia giusto prima che appaia il buco. Uso un filo singolo da ricamo e un ago sottile per ricostruire la maglia.

A big mend in a skirt. You can see the threads that I used to reinforce the entire worn area and that served me as a warp for the mendling of the various holes (the dense strip at the bottom). The red mending is the beginning of the seam reinforcement.

🇮🇹Per la serie “attacca la toppa e lascia il buco” vi faccio vedere questo #rammendo. Il tema lunare è stato scelto dalla proprietaria dei pantaloni. A me tocca la pazienza di tentare di essere precisa su due strati di jeans. #visiblemending

🇮🇹➡️🇺🇸⬇️ Rammendo quasi finito sugli angoli di una tasca in dei jeans cargo. Nella toppa in basso si vede ancora il filo dell’imbastitura. Il buco è stato lasciato visibile. Il decoro a stelle serve a tenere ferma la toppa.

I'm almost done on the corners of a pocket in cargo jeans. In the patch at the bottom you can still see the thread of the basting. The hole was left visible. The star decoration is used to hold the patch still.
