Il telaietto non serve.😅 Per tenere la tensione basta un uovo o un fungo da rammendo (o una mela, un cucchiaio, una pallina giocattolo..) per le tensioni “tonde” e un tavolo o tagliere per le tensioni piatte. E poi serve contare. Ma davvero per rammendare non c’è da comprare niente di nuovo. ☺️ Anzi!

Tempo fa andai a sentire un umilissimo consiglio comunale. Istruttivo davvero. Si sostenne ad esempio che “il verde è bello ma poi bisogna fare manutenzione: vogliamo davvero spendere questi soldi per degli alberi?” Come evitare il pensiero che l’investimento nella cura è a beneficio di tutti.

🇮🇹 Rammendo della cucitura di una tasca. Il rammendo è fatto con tre capi di filo da ricamo arancione che disegnano un albero spoglio. Ho usato punto satin e punto fantasia. Si vede con il filo azzurro un precente rammendo.
🇬🇧 Mending of the seam of a pocket. The patch is made with three strands of orange embroidery thread that draw a bare tree. I used satin stitch and casual stitch. You can see with the blue thread a previous mend.

No, I guess not as you can't learn Sicilian or Ladin in Rome. But I don't know of any bilingual Italian/Sardinian or Italian/ Neapolitan schools. It would seem crazy. The Breton school, even with its limitations, seemed to me an advanced reality.

All’interno del quadrato ci sono i primi punti di ordito del rammendo a tela. Il rammendo prosegue con piccolissimi punti filza per rinforzare un’area vicina. L’ago è infilato sui punti filza.

Shoulder of an ocher linen dress. There is a hole at the top of the shoulder. Around the hole I drew a square as a guide for the stitchs. Inside the square there are the first warp points of the darning. The mend continues with very small running stitches to reinforce a nearby area. The needle is inserted on the running stitches.
P.S. I'm never sure of the English stitches translation. If you don't understand, tell me so I can try to explain myself better.

Boro is when repairs become the #textile. This late-Meiji Japanese #indigo futon cover (c.1900) shows what repair can become over generations. Every true #boro textile is as unique as the stories behind it. So happy I got to spend time with this lovely piece. My studio feels different without it.

Repair and reuse span cultures and generations, and the wonderful darning on this 18th-century French grain sack is such a lovely example. I love holding textiles like these and imagining the times they’ve seen.

🇮🇹➡️🇬🇧⬇️ Quattro calzini color antracite con rammendi visibili di vari colori (blu elettrico, blu di Prussia, rosa antico chiaro, verde e azzurro). Non si vede in foto ma c’è anche del giallo su un paio di punte. Tecniche miste; punto festone in tondo, rammendo a tela preciso, rammendo a
tela creativo (per non dire caotico).

🇮🇹➡️🇺🇸⬇️ Un quadrato di lino su un tavolo in una cucina. Il quadrato è composto da due rettangoli esterni di lino azzurro e un rettangolo interno fatto con varie pezze rettangolari più piccole e di dimensioni diverse marroni e ocra. Il rettangolo di stoffa è rifinito con uno sbieco bianco e beige.
