For me it wasn’t the mistakes that were a problem. It was Luke’s decent into hermitage that I took issue with. Him following in the footsteps of Yoda and Obi-wan felt very antithetical to his character. Didn’t stop me enjoying him being a legit space wizard in that film though!

I think a lot of people kill their weirdness too. They are afraid of being perceived. Some of us just can’t contain it, weird and damaging things happen when we deny our authentic selves sometimes. I thank my school play days for making me more confident and authentic.

I struggle with the idea of not engaging with works of cultural or artistic significance because of the failings of their creators. I obviously don’t want to be part of the “problem”, but I also don’t want to limit exposure to art that can spark a useful and productive conversation. Like this one

I assume you are talking HP? My take was that look at how when things are accepted as is that nothing changes. While another character made it their mission to right that wrong, and then succeeded in doing so through hard work, persistence, and lobbying.

Right! But so your answer to the question would be no, you can’t separate the art from the artist. I understand not wanting to financially support either of these individuals moving forward. But there are myriad ways to consume their work that doesn’t materially benefit them in any way.

Loved this show, it was admittedly a little meandering imo. But not every piece of media needs to be grand and sweeping in scope. Sometimes it’s just rewarding to hang out with characters that are struggling with relatable issues.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE. This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined. It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.
