Maybe you’d have a better experience with a customer service person if you didn’t treat that person like something you just wiped off your shoe? Maybe. Juuuuust maybe.

DO NOT SEEK THE TREASURE One of my favorite scenes from O Brother Where Art Thou. I figured I should try to draw all 3 of the Soggy bottom boys, why not. #art #comic

🍳 A messy comic of a scene from O Brother Where Art Thou. Delmar and Everett are in a movie theater looking behind them in their seats. Delmar is saying " We thought you was a Toad" to a confused looking Pete (surrounded by question marks).

PAC passing away is just weird. I never would have thought it. He was always so much fun to watch in the ring. Always as fit as could be. And from what I hear from his friends, the best person. Rest in Peace, Ben. Thanks for all you gave us.

Long time ago, way way back, an old roomie of mine was saying how he never liked Iron Man. Said anyone could put on that armor and be a superhero. I think he totally missed the point of what makes someone a hero. Green Arrow? Batman? Hawkeye (one and two)? And many others didn’t have powers…

At last night's Q&A for The Lost Children of Tuam, director Frank Berry said he wants people to see the film and "get angry". Catherine Corless' dogged pursuit of why 796 infants were dumped in a septic tank at a M&B home is rage-making. In cinemas 25/9. TRAILER: www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6A7...

"They're not misunderstanding the film; they're co-opting a message"

Screencap from the interview linked in the quoted post

Marlow Stern (the interviewer): You have one of the most renowned replies in Twitter history. Elon Musk tweeted out, “Take the red pill,” then Ivanka Trump enthusiastically wrote, “Taken!” to him, and then you replied, “Fuck both of you.” I’m curious how you feel about the co-opting of “The Matrix” by those on the right who don’t really seem to understand its messaging.

Lilly Wachowski: I mean, I can’t sit in a room and explain the movie to every single person who watches it. Even if I did sit in a room with Elon Musk and Ivanka Trump — yikes — it doesn’t matter. They’re not misunderstanding the film; they’re co-opting a message. And that’s what fascists do: They co-opt the messages of progressives and use it to their benefit to confuse and obfuscate what is going on and the intention of their ideology. They do it with everything. They do it with Martin Luther King Jr. Look at how they’ve changed the idea of what antisemitism is.

So, I got my comic craft referred to as a “Hobby” the other day, I think mainly because I don’t do that as my all the time day job. But let’s be clear- I DO get paid for drawing and for drawing comics. They do pay my bills sometimes so no, not a hobby by definition.

When an artist, or any creative person, tells you, very kindly, they do not have time to work on your project, and you push, and THEN you offer to pay? Chances are the creative person is only going to double down on the “No” they gave you in the first place.

@kellythompson.bsky.social Black Cloak is amazing. It’s one of those special books you read over and over. The art is stunning, the characters are lifelike. I do desire a sort of ‘Marvel Universe’ treatment of the characters as I sometimes forget who is guilty of what and when.

Saw Supergirl. Loved it. Lotta folks seem so-so on it or they outright hate it which is weird because to me it has everything a superhero movie needs. Or everything a good film needs- good script, character growth, great action and a solid desire for more of the lead character.

I knew that the Department of War shot a missile into a school & killed 175 civilians, mostly children. This is learned today: Secretary of War Hegseth had cut the teams assigned to prevent such tragedies by 90%. www.npr.org/2026/03/11/n...

After a series of fatal strikes involving civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan, Congress directed the Pentagon to reduce civilian casualties as part of a 2019 law. During the Biden administration, the Defense Department created the Civilian Harm Mitigation and Response initiative.

The civilian mitigation teams – cut by 90% by Hegseth – work with military commanders on target planning, and making sure that targets are actually military sites. The teams help come up with "no strike" lists, including religious and cultural sites and schools
