I'm very conscious about separating my personal feelings/interests from my translation work, because while I get excited easily, translation is pure analysis and nothing upsets me more than the idea that I'm misinterpreting or misconstruing my favorite things

Ryukishi and Ricochi on the same page yes I am normal about this and the fact the site says it's gonna have cameras going during her timeslot

I think it finally clicked for my mom how much time and brainpower I truly dedicate to translating cause I went on a half hour tangent explaining my thought processes on this line, asked her thoughts (she was undecided after the half hour) and then had her watch my subs ("that made it worse")

Trying to finalize my translation of First Love and this line is truly the thing holding me back. I've read countless translations from other people and everyone does "even if I fall in love with someone else," but every time I look at this line, "even if *you*" just makes so much more sense to me

I'm too bad at the games to have ever made it past 2 hours in any of the ones I've played (which is almost all of them) but Zelda (the character) has done so much for ME!!!!! by turning into a masc ninja for sport. Probably the OG androgynous fav of mine... (my Smash main since Melee ✌️)

Being a creator online sucks cause everyone can agree that stealing art and using it for AI is bad, but the "stealing art" side of that is apparently okay if it's repurposing it on their account (Just musing at how futile it always feels to write "please don't repost my art")

My not-so-fun fact about myself is I also wear an eyepatch. I've always liked characters who wear eyepatches but I feel even more of a fondness for them now

Been feeling incredibly discouraged about the things I do and provide online lately but I am trying to be brave about it

The older I get the more I fully come to terms with my favorite media properties being ones where I feel like I can't possibly get that kind of experience (specific use of tropes or emotions) anywhere else. Which might sound obvious, but for me it's been key in identifying why I drop certain series

Can any Arknights players give me like, a For Dummies explanation on how to clear the Sui Garden thing, and how much I should be expected to train all my units? I can't even clear the first stage and I don't even know where to begin at approaching it better

Been taking it easy on doing translations lately (just kinda hit a wall in my project and I need to step back from it for a bit instead of forcing myself to finish it), but every second I'm not working on them I feel sooo guilty akadhlsfjs

Sorry for the rant, I have been very pleasantly surprised by how the reception to my Ave Mujica work has been (at least to me directly) I've gotten stalked and harassed in other fandoms for daring to be a human translator who values quality in my own work and it is as insane as it sounds

I try to keep my head up about it but I have to say it does fill me with a sort of emptiness anytime I think about how much society is trying to normalize machine translation for media. I'll probably never get to work in the industry with how devs Don't Care and I'm tired of fans further enabling it

I have to say, the worst part about being an archivist is that I actively find the official English account's posts frustrating, but I have to keep following it in case they post news I need to know about... 😭

I read a Shakespeare play earlier and I've been just cycling through random classical piano pieces the past day or so. I'm truly in some sort of vibe

As a manga reader I think comparing the HxH anime adaptations is ridiculous given they both have their merits. That being said every time I think about Sawashiro as Kurapika it distresses me in a very potent way. Kaida was so much better for the role it HURTS

ngl I'm a little jealous that the MyGO manga gets a bonus drama CD track and the Ave Mujica one doesn't... I know Manuscriptus wasn't well received but 😭 Something like that could've bolstered the sales!!!
