It took "Escape from Ave Mujica's world" in the collaboration a little too literally

The widely misinterpreted version would be cool to me if true cause I like the ship but it's just... blatantly made up... And idk it made me feel a lot better about whether or not I'm "inserting my biases" into my own translations and actually skewing the words I'm working with

This is about the fact that I was reading a wiki page for a different fandom and saw a claim I've seen parroted a lot throughout the years, and for once it had a link to the source text so I finally read it for myself ...The character in question wasn't even MENTIONED in the original interview 😭

I'm very conscious about separating my personal feelings/interests from my translation work, because while I get excited easily, translation is pure analysis and nothing upsets me more than the idea that I'm misinterpreting or misconstruing my favorite things

I can't tell you how tempting it is to try and force this team to work in Champions, given I've been running Delphox and I just got a shiny Reuniclus that I've been wanting to mess around with. It's definitely terrible competitively (I'd change the moves) but WHAT IF

I was like exactly!!! That's how I feel too!!! Never stump me on how to word a song line I will never move on with my life!!!!!!! She did say something interesting though which is that she would make the first one "you" and the second one in the song "I"

First victim in a slasher film📉 @eternalchains.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

I think it finally clicked for my mom how much time and brainpower I truly dedicate to translating cause I went on a half hour tangent explaining my thought processes on this line, asked her thoughts (she was undecided after the half hour) and then had her watch my subs ("that made it worse")

To be fair I am also translating it in the context of Hatsune Misumi singing it and it is cosmically impossible for her to even consider being in a relationship with someone else, but it is very easy for her to imagine Sakiko moving on from her (ep12...). Does this make sense

030

First victim in a slasher film📉 @eternalchains.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Grammatically and contextually it just makes the most sense to me, since the song is about the singer not being able to move on. Like, even if I read it as a hypothetical, it just feels like a contradiction to other lines in the song?? I feel like I gotta trust my gut on this <--famous last words

Trying to finalize my translation of First Love and this line is truly the thing holding me back. I've read countless translations from other people and everyone does "even if I fall in love with someone else," but every time I look at this line, "even if *you*" just makes so much more sense to me

I get that honestly, ironically Zelda herself just feels better and better with each game, Ultimate Zelda is such a fun zoner <3333 (I used to have Falco as my secondary in Melee too whoa,,, you truly get it) AND SAME I love androgynous characters sm (Kanon Umineko <3)

YOU GET ME!!!! Though nowadays I play more Zelda than Sheik 😆 Sheik will always be important to me for that reason though!!!!

I'm too bad at the games to have ever made it past 2 hours in any of the ones I've played (which is almost all of them) but Zelda (the character) has done so much for ME!!!!! by turning into a masc ninja for sport. Probably the OG androgynous fav of mine... (my Smash main since Melee ✌️)

Yep, I wouldn't wish this kind of eye/head strain on my worst enemies. Feel like I have a headache at all times 😭 Eyepatches are still cool looking nonetheless!!!!

My not-so-fun fact about myself is I also wear an eyepatch. I've always liked characters who wear eyepatches but I feel even more of a fondness for them now

Been feeling incredibly discouraged about the things I do and provide online lately but I am trying to be brave about it

That aside I strongly prioritize the emotions that drive a story. If the characters aren't feeling intense emotions I'm quick to drop stuff (buildup to it is fine but it's gotta be the leading motif of the story) This goes for my own art too. I think of an emotion to convey and autopilot from there

Some of my favorite series are amalgamations of ideas I've seen in other things, and I don't even think they're the best expressions of specific ideas, but in their whole they just give me a sort of experience that doesn't exist anywhere else... that's something I place a lot of value in

140

First victim in a slasher film📉 @eternalchains.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

The older I get the more I fully come to terms with my favorite media properties being ones where I feel like I can't possibly get that kind of experience (specific use of tropes or emotions) anywhere else. Which might sound obvious, but for me it's been key in identifying why I drop certain series

Can any Arknights players give me like, a For Dummies explanation on how to clear the Sui Garden thing, and how much I should be expected to train all my units? I can't even clear the first stage and I don't even know where to begin at approaching it better

Been taking it easy on doing translations lately (just kinda hit a wall in my project and I need to step back from it for a bit instead of forcing myself to finish it), but every second I'm not working on them I feel sooo guilty akadhlsfjs
