New paper! Are universal models of human behavior really universal? Universal mobility models can work remarkably well on average while systematically failing for some socioeconomic groups. Accurate for whom? academic.oup.com/pnasnexus/ar... Led by Ludovico Napoli with @martonkarsai.bsky.social

It shows the maps of different cities in the US with areas (census tracts) colored proportionally to how bad/good the universal model describes the behavior of people in that area. [New paper!] Mobility data are incredibly powerful, but also come with a long list of well-known biases (sampling, coverage, demographics, behavioral, etc.). In the paper, we survey them all and then zoom in on one that has been surprisingly underexplored: temporal bias. arxiv.org/abs/2601.22330
