well you should have been more specific when people ask you what you wanted for your birthday

I'll be writing a review soon. The short answer: it cuts corners in every way the first game succeeded, with some of the most monotonous combat and intentionally frustrating platforming I've seen in an action game.

Given how much I hate Control Resonant, I had to go back to the original tonight and know if my memories were wrong. No. Control is still That Game. In every way.

At the least, they would not dedicate an entire show to him.

So it looks like after my travel expenses and with my bills, I’m coming up $250 short for this month that I need to pay by Friday. I really don’t expect that asking the internet to help a girl out with $250 in two days is realistic.

Finished Control Resonant. I think I really hate it. A complete letdown from the original, devoid of any new tricks and packing some of the most frustrating combat and platforming I've seen in an action game. One of the first games I truly regret buying in a while.

And if you haven't, watch his match against Sami Zayn from 2014 for the NXT title. That match gets overshadowed by Kevin Owens heel turn, but it's probably Neville's best televised match.

He changed his styles to fit with the times, his body, and even his character. And he did it by changing very little fundamentally. He knew who he was.

Will Jagielski-Harrison @essenceofazeroth.com · 28/09/2026

This isn't to say he was a perfect performer. Sometimes too predictable. Sloppy when he needed it to count. But nobody moved or existed in the ring like he did, especially in the AEW era.

Will Jagielski-Harrison @essenceofazeroth.com · 28/09/2026

I've been ruminating on PAC/Neville as a performer for the last few hours, and he's a high so perfectly indicative of the problems with the 2010 WWE and indie systems. If he had been 6'1 he would have been a golden goose for WWE. As it stood, they refused to take seriously a la Roman Reigns.

Had a customer snot and sniff around me for an hour only to leave a used tissue on the seats where she was. So that's cool.

I don't think I've cried harder than Verlander getting the last out at 91 pitches and five Ks and his daughter running out to the mound while the final track from Field of Dreams plays. Jesus. Baseball. How can you not love baseball?
