Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 28/09/2026Working under the assumption that the would-be conquerers of the tech industry have already won will just deny you more time with your skills and more time with your projects. Your skills and labor are where value comes from, and at best they can misrepresent and parasitize what you do, for a time. 020
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 28/09/2026The existence of these extractive technologies won't stop people from pursuing skills they want to have, the same way that box cake mix didn't kill off the Baker. Personally am of the belief that capital heavy tech is brittle & can continue to be avoided in projects. Learn your skills & enjoy them. 121
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 26/09/2026Also yes, the whole system is bad, but any individual billionaire is still the social equivalent of a loose nuke. A system that produces billionaires is producing enemies that are willing and able to crush you and your communities, and perhaps something should be done to remedy this issue! 000
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 26/09/2026The piece missing from this analysis is that it falls short of the actual issue. The existence of any Billionaire requires a level of exploitation of people working for, with and on behalf of the person, and this selects for people willing to exploit others on that level. That's what makes them bad. 100
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 24/09/2026Encountered this guy straight up watching the Daily Shoah while he was streaming on there and had to stop streaming for a while, just straight up Nazi programming. Disturbing to still see him there. 100
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 21/09/2026It is a mixed experience, with many problems, but has the most beautiful vistas anyone ever did see. Makes one want to go out for a nature hike. Worth it for that personally, but the narrative leaves a lot to be desired... At 20, yeah sure, why not! 010
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 21/09/2026It would be lovely to have art software be as smooth to use for purpose as KORG M01D or FL Studio for sure. All the solutions that have come close have as you said, been proprietary. Mischief was nice for a time, and Concepts and Leonardo are too, but they're trapped in proprietary environments... 000
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 20/09/2026A bot most likely. Nonsense extractive technology like LLMs or NFTs. Blocking and reporting for spam recommended. 010
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 15/09/2026Like other businesses in the tech sector, they have an ideological commitment to disciplining labor above even performing the functions of their business. They exploit their workers and the players alike and will eventually fail. It's so wasteful. 011

Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 08/09/2026Ended up experimenting with these stands more over time and learned about threaded inserts. Attaching the Wacom pen tray to the wood directly wore down the threads of the hole in the wood. Threaded inserts made for a much more secure fit. Also made one out of a panel from the local art store! 053
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 08/09/2026People understand LLMs as a technology as a way for scammers to adulterate their communications diet the same way an unscrupulous baker might make flour stretch with chalk without a regulatory body to stop them. They make snap judgements about "chemicals" in food & will do the same for art, etc. 010
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 08/09/2026All that is to say that the intention behind pieces like this is knowingly to make clickbait. The observations are entirely predictable & don't say anything much other than "people don't know much about art beyond aesthetics if they aren't artists." A cheap trick. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mojave_...en.wikipedia.orgMojave Experiment - Wikipedia 111
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 08/09/2026The public is unreliable when it comes to citing the cause and effect of specific problems because they are laypeople. It is the job of the analyst to interpret the response with the knowledge they have. People react to the underlying sense of unfairness and reach for the (wrong) tools they have. 110
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 08/09/2026The fact is that the average person uses heuristics to determine their feelings on things, & often does not do any deeper analysis than that when backfilling reasons for their behavior. People for instance do not understand myriad arguments why racism is bad beyond an intuitive sense of fairness. 120

Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 29/08/2026One of the better ways to engage with Vim keybinds in personal experience is to understand them as a language of sorts. When seeing "ci(" read it as "Change in parentheses" and that sort of deal. Characters used in regular expressions are meaningful too, for location marking and such. Good luck! 040
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 29/08/2026Way way before, Vi is from like the 70s if memory serves? These things were on like teletype machines. Old old stuff! 050
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 27/08/2026One of those & an arm rest are the main things that make screen tablet use ergonomically viable, personally speaking! Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 27/08/2026Had to learn that lesson the hard way over the years. Pretty much swear by kneeling chairs now, or standing on an anti-fatigue mat with a raised workspace, or a hard straight chair if those are unavailable. You get a little cushion on kneeling chairs but its mostly a block of wood. 110

Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 24/08/2026The whole way that people engage with erotic art in those spaces has a real uncanny feel to it. Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 15/08/2026Can relate, heavily so. Had to take up other work while training in the background. Your work, however, has been and continues to be of professional quality - doesn't seem as if you're doing anything particularly wrong from observation. Do you think you're doing something wrong? 110
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 15/08/2026The LLM steals the lunch you made, & steals your lunch money by pretending to be you at work. You go home hungry, and the owner of the LLM follows you home to demand you continue making those lunches so the LLM can perform properly at your job. Maybe you can get a new job fixing the LLM's mistakes? 000
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 15/08/2026The LLM owner additionally has a parasitic relationship with you, as an artist. You must continue to supply it with new work to train with because LLMs as a technology cannot do what a slave can do; learn. They need to continue taking your work indefinitely to continue replacing you as an artist. 121
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 15/08/2026The central conceit of an LLM is that it is a slave you can rent. What effect would someone being able to purchase a slave have on the fortunes of people who must sell their work to survive? How would you feel if your work was crowded out by a fleet of slaves making counterfeits? 121
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 15/08/2026Learning to draw by doing master studies does not remove the legacy, impact or potential of the master, it instead is part of an ongoing dialog between practitioners. LLM training, instead, is an attempt at Enclosure of the concept of the arts and deprive people of the fruits of their own labor. 121
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 15/08/2026The arts are skills with depth and breadth beyond what the layperson hiring an artist understands. LLM "Training" is more like collage than the synthesis people sharing a craft do, and much of the marketing of LLMs rests on their ability to make a lossy misrepresentation of other people's work. 130
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 15/08/2026LLMs are in contrast, a type of capital. The owner of that capital is attempting to serve as a market replacement for artists collectively, & the individual artists the training data uses explicitly, using their own works against them. "Don't buy the labor of that artist, copy them with our LLM!" 130
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 15/08/2026The difference is in scale, intensity and intent. Artists are laborers, having only their labor to sell to make a living. Their works are still attributable to them and their *decision making*, experience and point of view, which is the actual nature of what a working artist is selling. 120
Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 14/08/2026Much of drawing practice is learning to direct one's visual attention over a subject & learn how it looks and why, & this aspect of the skill has its analog in other artistic disciplines like music composition & play. For those artists, attentive listening is in fact an aspect of practice. 040

Claus leSable 🔞 @escapeclaus.art · 30/07/2026It has been possible in personal experience to work with screen tablets ergonomically but it is a fussy process that necessitates extra equipment like monitor arms, kneeling chairs, adjustable arm rests and the like to both keep the screen in view and comfortable to draw on... 000
