Created in 2017, the Snow Aven species have been very dear to me for many years. I’ve toggled on and off with their designs for a long time, but meshing them properly into Tales of Tiamont finally became more clear in the beginning of 2024. I’ve always had an idea for Thorm’s design back in 2019, but finally settled on his design around that time as well. I haven't drawn him in almost a year, so he was in need of an update with my new style.
[ King Thormund, or Thorm (He/Him, Snow Aven) for short, is one of the five kings who rule the Snow Aven Kingdom, a large, hidden mountain in Winter Morr divided into five distinct regions, each belonging to its own separate kingdom and different Snow Aven cultures. Among the five rulers, Thorm holds the highest and most important position, overseeing the mountain as a whole alongside his wife, Queen Ons.
The Snow Aven Kingdom becomes an important part of Eclipse’s journey, as he resides there for an extended period of time and returns multiple times throughout his adventure. During his time there, Eclipse gradually earns the trust of both the villagers and the royals of all districts. Despite his many titles, achievements, and boisterous presence, Thorm takes an immediate liking to Eclipse however, and quickly becomes a mentor.
Thorm plays a major role throughout Tales of Tiamont, serving not only as one of Eclipse’s mentors, but also as a closely bonded figure who helps guide him through some of the most difficult periods of his journey…both through the personal challenges and mental obstacles he faces along the way.
