And my entry to EVs was buying a used 2016 eGolf in 2018-- it gets around 80 miles of range these days but honestly since we can charge (free, with solar, basically) at home, it's more than enough range for one day tooting around town and then plugging it in at night.

People think they need a car with 400+ miles of range. They think I'm insane for buying my electric car that gets less than 300 miles per charge, even though I'm like, for the less than once a year we take a road trip, we could just rent a hybrid or IC vehicle and drive electric 99.9% of the time.
