Someone pointed out to me once that Romance is the only genre where good things happen to women/the woman never dies. When people bash or denigrate the genre now, I can’t unsee the misogyny. Romance is the pumpkin spice latte of literature—you hate it because it brings joy to women.

Honestly this is my assumption. The whole “it’s a god” bs came out as a gambit to drown out the release of court filings that revealed internal communications at OpenAI and Microsoft that are incredibly damning and should lead to their industry ceasing to exist.

This is now one of my favourite Indian 'genre' novels (or novels, period) of the 21st century, tbh, and like the best ones, treats the boundaries of 'genre' as borders to be breached, explored, language a lantern in the wilderness. Essential for all readers of 'weird' fiction.

I have traveled to the Great Northwest Fibre Feat this weekend and my first discovery in #PrinceGeorge BC was a Nepali restaurant called Himalayan Bites! I can never, ever say no to momos. I love them.🧶🥟❤️

#SciArtSeptember is doing colours! Day 7: Fawn. Fawn is a light golden brown, first attested as a colour term in 1789. It describes a young deer but also certain red dogs—the ones with a dilution gene that lightens their coat. I use a range of browns in yarn colorways inspired by nature.🧶🐻🦌

#SciArtSeptember is doing colours! Day 6: Coral. Coral is not used to make dye powders, but it has one beautiful intersection with my art form: Japanese Coral Dyeing, the modern Bingata technique developed in Okinawa. Artists use coral fossils natural dyes to create beautiful hand-dyed textiles.🪸🧶
