Thinking a lot about pedagogy lately. Occurs to me that my most ferocious mentors and teachers rooted out every crumb of complacence inside me, and I'm not sure we talk about this enough. Inspiring, brilliant, funny, yes. But to consistently refuse apathy–I'm forever indebted to them for that.

One day, six ICE vehicles with at least 2 agents in each vehicle pulled over one of our teachers, a white teacher, for no reason and threatened her. Two-thirds of our students weren't in attendance the next day. We set up online instruction and had huge enrollment.
