Publishers Marketplace Deal Report: Erinrose Mager's HOT FRUIT, a hybrid collection examining the dynamics of familial loss and longing, class and financial precarity, culinary ritual, fractured memory, and unearthed trauma, interspersed with a fable cycle, pitched as reimagining Korean myths, legends, and contemporary media through the lens of the adoptee experience, to Jeff Alessandrelli at Fonograf Editions, with Adie B. Steckel editing, in an exclusive submission, for publication in fall 2026, by Kate Johnson at Wolf Literary Services (US).

Andrew Cuomo’s campaign just posted — and quickly deleted — this AI-generated ad depicting “criminals for Zohran Mamdani.” Features a Black man in a keffiyeh shoplifting, an abuser, a trespasser, a trafficker, a drug dealer, and a drunk driver all declaring support for Mamdani.

No. We are not living beyond our means. We have simply been denied the means to live.

I remember the weeks before the baby was born so clearly, even though it was almost 30 years ago. The nerves and the nesting. The dreaming out loud together. This has been stolen from Mahmoud and his wife by our criminal government.

Everyone will draw the wrong conclusion from the White House’s mission statement of getting more religious baby brokers involved in adoption. Their conclusion will be “no, adoption is for everyone!!” instead of “why the fuck are we promoting family separation over protecting vulnerable people?” 🥚

really highly recommend y'all read about this because it's necessary to understanding where we're at now -- it sounds conspiracy-y but it's not. it's important to realize that militants assassinated a political leader as peace in the middle east was being brokered, in a direct effort to stop it

A reminder it is olive season and West Bank settlers are burning Palestinian olive trees as we speak while the IOF are taking Palestinian farmers hostage or barring them from their land. And nobody has even mentioned the livestock Palestinian farmers are struggling to protect from settler attacks.

The implicit and explicit claims that ones political status separates you from basic human regard, and that violence is a legitimate tool to enforce an ethnic claim to land, are exactly the claims made by the Israeli far-right to justify endless violence and dispossession.
