Dark fantasy about a vampire knight who wanders through a reborn world that is overflowing with life inside the corpses it left behind. A legend of painful self-examination, blood bags who bare their souls, and a desperate hunger for a purpose. Sometimes a journey is a man and his coffin.

A new study found that one out of every four land animals raised for food in 2019 wound up in the trash. That’s 18 billion animals total, or 2.4 for every human on earth. It’s incredibly bad in the US where it’s 7.1 animals wasted per person. www.vox.com/future-perfe...

Scholastic Book Fairs is ending their segregated book program. We made ourselves heard.
A letter from the Scholastic corporation that reads "Dear Authors and Illustrators,
I want to update you regarding the Book Fairs Share Every Story/Celebrate Every
Voice case.
First, I want to apologize on behalf of Scholastic. Even if the decision was made
with good intention, we understand now that it was a mistake to segregate diverse
books in an elective case. We sincerely apologize to every author,
illustrator, licensor, educator, librarian, parent, and reader who was hurt by our
action. We recognize and acknowledge the pain caused, and that we have broken
the trust of some of our publishing community, customers, friends, trusted partners,
and sta", and we also recognize that we will now need to regain that trust.
This case will be discontinued starting with our next season in January. For the
remaining fairs in the fall, Book Fairs is working on a pivot plan as we speak. We will
find an alternate way to get a greater range of books into the hands of children. We
remain committed

One of the best parts of the WGA deal: AI has now hit a brick wall in Hollywood, *and that includes adaptations.* Based on the deal, AI can't be source material. So if you're a publisher, AI novels or graphic novels or whatever just became that much less appealing because *they can't be optioned.*

WGA CONTRACT 2023
DEAR MEMBERS,
Last Friday, 102 days after they walked away from the bargaining table and put us out on strike, the AMPTP offered responses to our proposals in all work areas. We met this week and continued to exchange proposals. We will continue to meet next week.
Thank you for the many messages of support and solidarity as we talk with the AMPTP. As always, be skeptical of rumors from third parties, knowing that the Guild will communicate when we think there is something of significance to report.
