I'm curious what you mean by "It's not considering oxc's raw transfer", doesn't using oxc through NAPI always uses raw transfer? Can you "disable" raw transfer?

Huge release 🌟 And as a bonus, all my plugins now properly support the Sätteri Markdown processor. One last plugin couldn’t support it. Until today 🎉

Another batch of Biome fixes landed! Next PR will be hopefully unblocking full support for formatting Astro files in Biome 🤞

I've been logging build duration, page count, and other metrics on one of my @astro.build projects for months now. Out of curiosity I charted the results; Astro 7 and the new Rust-based markdown compiler Sätteri had quite an impact on build times! (Note the log scale.)
Screenshot of a page on one of my sites showing build time and some major upgrades (Astro 7, Node 24, etc.). The trend line is heading down even as page count goes up.

In Prettier land, we published a beta of our future 1.0 version of the Astro prettier plugin, rewritten on top of our Rust compiler. You can try it out by running `npm install prettier prettier-plugin-astro@beta` and following the instructions here: docs.astro.build/en/editor-se...

I sent a small PR fixing a few bugs in @biomejs.dev's Astro support. This is part of a larger effort this quarter to improve the formatting story of Astro, with more to come 😄

It's the default since 7, but it doesn't do the frontmatter parsing itself, Astro still uses something else for that

It's an unfortunate historical factor, compressHTML default used to be `true` for many years (`true` actually meaning minify whitespace, but always in a safe way). 6.x introduced a new possible value: `'jsx'` (now default in 7.x), but we felt like it was unnecessary churn to change the option name

Sorry that this hit you, I hope our upgrade guide was friendly enough and you found what to do easily! For what it's worth, you do not need `{" "}` in the specific context you highlight in the post, a normal space would be fine!
An example showing that a normal space between two spans does result in a visible space in the final website.

A screenshot from Tailwind's old homepage with the following text

“Best practices” don’t actually work.

I’ve written a few thousand words on why traditional “semantic class names” are the reason CSS is hard to maintain, but the truth is you’re never going to believe me until you actually try it. If you can suppress the urge to retch long enough to give it a chance, I really think you’ll wonder how you ever worked with CSS any other way.
