In Prettier land, we published a beta of our future 1.0 version of the Astro prettier plugin, rewritten on top of our Rust compiler. You can try it out by running `npm install prettier prettier-plugin-astro@beta` and following the instructions here: docs.astro.build/en/editor-se...

I sent a small PR fixing a few bugs in @biomejs.dev's Astro support. This is part of a larger effort this quarter to improve the formatting story of Astro, with more to come 😄

Sorry that this hit you, I hope our upgrade guide was friendly enough and you found what to do easily! For what it's worth, you do not need `{" "}` in the specific context you highlight in the post, a normal space would be fine!
An example showing that a normal space between two spans does result in a visible space in the final website.

A screenshot from Tailwind's old homepage with the following text

“Best practices” don’t actually work.

I’ve written a few thousand words on why traditional “semantic class names” are the reason CSS is hard to maintain, but the truth is you’re never going to believe me until you actually try it. If you can suppress the urge to retch long enough to give it a chance, I really think you’ll wonder how you ever worked with CSS any other way.

And the answer is yes! Rust already has some very fast Markdown parsers in its ecosystem. Combining them with this architecture, using the standard mdast and hast AST formats for plugins, gives you a pipeline that's both fast and flexible. There's still a few rough edges to polish, but it works!
A code example showing:

- A MDAST plugin unwrapping images from paragraphs, transforming <p><img/></p> into just <p>, like rehype-unwrap-images.
- A HAST plugin adding slugified ids to headers (e.g. <h1>Hello</h1> becomes <h1 id="hello">Hello</h1>), like rehype-slug.

Then, satteri's `markdownToHtml` is called with those previously defined plugins, and a comment shows what the output would look like.

Ha! I not only worked on it, I pitched it, worked with the designer, did the code etc. It's my feature almost A to Z. You're not the only one who feels this way about it, it didn't really turn out the way I wanted, but our stats and research show that some people do like it, so there's that!

Fast as things should be. Maudit join the club of super-fast SSGs. Trivially build thousands of pages in less than a second. Even this early with little to no real work done on optimisation, Maudit goes even or is sometimes even faster than other native options.
A graph showing Maudit's performance:

250 pages build in 37ms
500 pages build in 75ms
1000 pages build in 151ms
2000 pages build in 319ms
4000 pages build in 676ms.

An habit I got around 10-12 years ago from Python days is having rulers set up in my editor to "feel out" the length of a line (`editor.rulers` in @vscode.dev, `wrap_guides` in @zed.dev) 79 always felt too limited to me, but I still enjoy subconsciously thinking about it, so I have 80 and 120.
