Anyone who suggests we just turn the page is in league with the GOP. This guy is telling you they tried to overthrow the government. You don't just pretend it never happened @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social

Competition in the WNBA must be a lot more equal across teams than seedings suggest. Number 1 seed (Lynx) losing to the 8th seed (Liberty) probably made a lot of gamblers happy though. Matchup wise, that was a team they struggled to beat in regular season (1-2). Unlucky draw.

.1% are worth $28,000,000,000,000. And you wonder why capitalism is now synonymous with social dystopia. A few hundred people own 15% of everything.

The Gap Between the Rich and the Very, Very Rich Is Getting Wider
The 0.1% are worth $28 trillion, or about 15% of the nation’s total wealth. The average wealth for a household in this group is over $200 million.

Election law expert on Trumps use of public funds for political ads👇 “This is an unlawful and outrageous misuse of public funds,” former White House ethics lawyer Norm Eisen told The Independent. “Federal law forbids using taxpayer dollars for political propaganda, which this clearly is,” he said.

I hope the next Congress does something. You cannot let this lawlessness continue. America isn’t the mafia. You can’t just pay people off, intimidate others, and ignore binding legal documents. No Republic is surviving that. This 250yr experiment will be over. Hope it’s not too late.

When Dick Cheney said Trump was a threat to the Republic I don’t think he was joking. Tearing apart the fabric of civil society, rooted in laws, regulation, etc. is going to do lasting damage to the country. Sowing authoritarianism. Where one guys opinion exists above laws, basically a demi-God.

Eric @ericstutz.bsky.social · 1h
The Supreme Court says tariffs are illegal. What does Trump do? Applies more tariffs. Trump uses money from border control to run a political ad paid by tax payers, a federal crime. I mean, is nobody going to enforce the law ever. Is he a God? Like, it’s surreal nobody does anything.

Only a criminal would say AI doesn’t need laws. Crypto doesn’t need laws. Elections don’t need laws. Society doesn’t need laws. And lo and behold Trump is actually a felon. Do people not put two and two together? Are they that ignorant. Guy gets charged w/ 32 felonies, hates all laws. Come on.

Eric @ericstutz.bsky.social · 1h
The “morally binding” AI spectacle Trump engaged in today is just further proof he wants to turn the country into Mafia Rule & get rid of the concept of laws. He’s been chipping away at this stuff for years now. Refusing to acknowledge laws exist or are necessary. Scary when you think about it.

I just watched an ad where an election expert comes on and says it’s a federal crime to send any troops, Ice, military, etc. to a polling station. Man, things are getting dystopian when we’re alerting people to potential election crimes in advance.

Another thing about fraternities is that the hazing rituals where slightly older young men would physically, mentally emotionally and sometimes even sexually abuse slightly younger young men have always disturbed and upset me greatly. And it’s really telling that I’ve seen men defend those too

The NY Governor is now involved. What should happen next is a special grand jury. It appears like whomever looked into the 2024 incident dismissed inconsistencies in the report. Didn’t even bring in a trauma specialist. Let faculty handle it? Which is bizarre. What do they know about crime.

Cornell fraternity rape case is reopened, as Hochul calls for review of school response
New York prosecutors are reexamining an investigation into an alleged rape case at Cornell University in 2024. The alleged victim recently filed a lawsuit against seven members of Chi Phi fraternity.

Eric @ericstutz.bsky.social · 2h
From what I’ve read, the Cornell incident was not looked into by any official institution that has to uphold the law. That error, which should have never happened, will be swiftly corrected and dealt with.

Eric @ericstutz.bsky.social · 2h
Those Cornell students are going to go to prison if all the facts check out. No question. Heinous crime. Plea deals incoming. Not sure what laws are in NY but it’s pretty unthinkable they won’t serve many years. That shit is evil. Society has to make an example of them.

It’s really sad we have a liar for President setting the worst example for others. He just makes stuff up. Repeats non-factual ideas. And you have all these people standing there unwilling to correct him. Like he’s a mob boss. We’re supposed to be guided by Reason, Truth, not lies.

Global warming is not a hoax. That’s a lie. Why does the media let him do that? And AI concerns? They’ve been coming from the head of OpenAI, Anthropic, etc. So he’s saying they are lying to potential shareholders? I mean, where’s the journalism calling out this bs.

One thing I’ve learned about politics over the last quarter century is that a lot of politicians are actually dumb. There in office because of money. Not because they’re intelligent. Both sides too. The few intelligent ones stand out but the rest just do stuff for attention. Ego trip.
