When I pulled myself from this race yesterday I said, "I wish I could have got to 20 miles" & immediately realized how unhinged that was. Running these distances, with this elevation, is not normal but training and the people I surround myself with makes me think otherwise.

Dumb things I saw drivers do, today's edition: at a red light, a car moved onto the shoulder and skipped the line, then when the light turned green they took off and got in front of the lead car. Congrats on saving 35 seconds, jackass. Every day it's something.

Wasn't planning on it but ended up taking today off from work. Boy, did I need it. Between stuff on my mind and the perfect weather, I couldn't stare at a screen all day. Plus, I have way more PTO than I know what to do with so I might as well use it on days like today!

I trained all winter and spring for an ultra marathon in May, so now I do things like run 2-½ hours and it feels like no big deal. 5, 5 ks last week, then 8+ city miles on Saturday and this today. Related: we're entering peak trail running season. These next two months are the best. 🍂

Half of Kenmore is at the Farmers Market where I picked up my Porchfest shirt for next weekend, hugged @ericnagel.com and most of his family and bought really great berries to go with that rhubarb. The other half is angrily making left turns almost into people because the road is closed. Ugh.

I had 5 bug things to do in Q2. Running an ultra marathon was #3 on the list (time shown is moving time and really inaccurate, actual time was 9 hrs, 30 mins). 2 more projects left in June!
