When I pulled myself from this race yesterday I said, "I wish I could have got to 20 miles" & immediately realized how unhinged that was. Running these distances, with this elevation, is not normal but training and the people I surround myself with makes me think otherwise.

Strava screenshot shows an 18.65 mile run including 3,695 feet of elevation.

The group I fostered for was TERRIBLE at communicating. I was driving 1/2 hour out to get a dog off of a transport and halfway there they messaged me that the truck was running about an hour behind. Then they switched dogs on me! Unreal.

On one hand it's amazing how difficult they make it. On the other hand, I was a foster and so many dogs get returned it's sickening. Try to find the foster parents (check comments on Instagram) and message them directly for answers.

Dumb things I saw drivers do, today's edition: at a red light, a car moved onto the shoulder and skipped the line, then when the light turned green they took off and got in front of the lead car. Congrats on saving 35 seconds, jackass. Every day it's something.

My alarm is set for 4:45 every day - and I rarely sleep until it goes off. But I'm in bed (watching some TV) before 9 (usually by 8) except for nights I'm teaching, when I get home and go to bed around 9:30.

Wasn't planning on it but ended up taking today off from work. Boy, did I need it. Between stuff on my mind and the perfect weather, I couldn't stare at a screen all day. Plus, I have way more PTO than I know what to do with so I might as well use it on days like today!

We installed a 220 plug on the front porch. It's covered from the elements. Then plugged in a charger right next to it. The charging cable runs down to the driveway, where I have the plug cradle. Added another cradle up top for really bad weather.

I trained all winter and spring for an ultra marathon in May, so now I do things like run 2-½ hours and it feels like no big deal. 5, 5 ks last week, then 8+ city miles on Saturday and this today. Related: we're entering peak trail running season. These next two months are the best. 🍂
