I like movies and music in probably like a 65/35 split. I like food of all kinds but have no desire to learn how to cook.

@severincarrell.bsky.social @kierlajanisse.bsky.social I think the title for "Hantu Retribution – Female Ghosts Of The Malay Archipelago" on the IMDb listing is incorrect. Just thought I'd let someone know.

I am ready for my trip to Japan in November.
I have successfully verbally repeated back to Falstaff, Duolingo's big dumb bear, the phrase "I often watch interesting movies" in Japanese.

Some good clouds when I left the theatre last night.

According to Bill Hunt/The Digital Bits, the first releases were The Fifth Element, The Terminator, Lord of War, and Crash, if that is useful info to have. If not, then I apologize and as you were! (cc: @normwilner.bsky.social)
Bill Hunt of The Digital Bits shared a post on the site's Patreon celebrating Blu-Ray's 20th birthday, writing that the first titles were The Fifth Element (Sony), The Terminator (MGM), Lord of War (Lionsgate), and Crash (Lionsgate).

Looking at new album releases today, I enjoyed how these two bands showed up next to each other and how they have the same name if you flip the first letter around. That is all. Have a good weekend.

RIP, Dr. Alec Lentz.
A frame from the hit 1993 film, The Fugitive, of Dr. Alec Lentz in a tuxedo at a charity event. He's looking to his left (our right) and appears to be in thought. Neither he nor the audience knows it yet, but he will soon be dead.

My good friend Michael (@bullshit.rodeo) went to Japan and all I got was a lovely box of nice things that he sent to me in the name of friendship!
A box of mushroom shaped chocolate coverer cookie sticks, a pretty postcard (the message is private - for my eyes only!), a package of beautiful stickers, and a good luck charm for success.

In honor of this being Hollywood's Biggest Night (the Oscars), a sincerely beloved text exchange of mine (about the Emmys) between me and my good friend Jesse (@movieshelf.bsky.social). I hope that everyone has a fine day leading up to the Red Carpet and then enjoys the Main Event!
Jesse: Up to anything this evening?

Me: Yo. I just finished some chores and I'm about to warm up pasta and put on the Emmys.

J: lol
Have fun.

Me: I don't believe you're laughing.

J: Oh, more of a chuckle.

Me: Out loud, or more to yourself?

col or ctm

J: COL
I just forgot that you love pageantry.

Me: I lol'd at that because it's true, I do.

J: Let me know if The Bear wins for best comedy.

The AMC A-List subscription is being updated this May for the first time since it launched in 2018. Reading the email, I was waiting for the part about a potential price hike, and I had to chuckle when I saw it. (Admittedly, other tiers were more affected, but still, this is pretty funny.)
Cropped screenshot of the AMC A-List subscription updates email I just received which states:

"Price Adjustment: For the first time since the program's 2018 launch, the $19.95/month+tax fee for your A-List membership will adjust to $19.99/month+tax – still at an incredible bargain. Your plan will be based on the location of your preferred theatre..."

Every time I see the poster for The Last Showgirl, I see the finger and thumb of a large Muppet's hand reaching down from the heavens to pick up Pamela Anderson by the head; I do not see the two colorful feathered plumes of a showgirl's headdress.
A poster for the movie, The Last Showgirl, featuring a profile of Pamela Anderson from mid-torso up. She's wearing a headdress with tall, pink and orange feather plumes extending upward out of the frame. The plumes look like muppet fingers reaching down and grabbing her head.

@jimmypardo.bsky.social, @mynameisgaron.bsky.social Welcome to this B.S! Here's something uninteresting: I've been going back through old NNFs and heard something that's the opposite of y'all's curse - congrats on getting Taylor and Mandy together!
Cropped screenshot of a Signal message to a friend that reads

"This is both interesting and uninteresting:

I'm listening to NNF 14A with Dave Holmes, and they brought up Mandy Moore and how she's married to Ryan Adams. Then later they're talking about Taylor Goldsmith from Dawes and how he's one of Dave's crushes and how Jimmy met him at Conan and he was really nice.

Taylor has now been on NNF and is married to Mandy and they probably have no idea that this conversational coincidence happened.

That is all."
