BioRxiv preprint from us identifying ultra-conserved Human CpG Dinucleotides - the crucial motif for DNA methylation in differentiated cells - from >0.5 million whole genome sequences (UKB/gnomAD). This identified enriched signals in developmental, ageing-related, & brain-expressed genes. [1/2]

Together with Chris Bell and Alexander Dawson, we are recruiting an PhD student (LIDo iCASE) at @qmulepigenetics.bsky.social to work on using long read nanopore technology to investigate DNA methylation on native DNA. This is a joint project with ONT. www.findaphd.com/phds/project...

We'll be leveraging the expertise at @qmulepigenetics.bsky.social to develop liquid biopsy-based diagnostics to serve our ethnically diverse population. Co-led by Gabriella Ficz, Christopher Bell, Stamatina Iliodromoti and Ajay Sinha. Amazing support from Barts Charity.
