A much needed policy announced by @mothinali.bsky.social today. Real work, real pay, and full rights. Not more Labour and Conservative welfare cuts and so called training schemes with no future.

For the Labour Party to remove benefits from working people at any time is a betrayal of their voters. To do it when there's a permanent cost of living crises is diabolical.

If immigration is a problem, as politicians have told us for decades it is, why don't they ever stop it? The answer is; it not a problem it's vital. But it's a very useful shiny bauble to distract you racist mugs with, while politicians sell off your nurseries and hospitals to their donors.

Our care sector relies MASSIVELY on immigrant labour. So what's the proposal to set this up? Currently we've got so few people coming/staying here because we're a racist little hole of an island, and it's losing our economy BILLIONS a year. #bbcqt www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Every 100,000 immigrants lost to the UK costs the treasury £7bn according to the Office for Budget Responsibility. That figure is unsurprising if you've been concentrating at all - the calculation was made in 2024 - but at the same time completely staggering. Nobody ever says, "The chancellor's going to be in trouble because of all those lost immigrants"; few people remark on, let alone decry, the very large numbers of migrants who have been lost due to policy decisions.

A £276 increase in bills in January would be the final straw for millions across the country. The Prime Minister must turn words into actions and stop bills going up on his watch.
Green graphic image with Hannah Spencer's photo quoting her: 'The Prime Minister must commit to stopping bills rising'. Full quote reads:

“Andy Burnham keeps talking about giving families breathing space. But actions speak louder than words and bills are still going up on his watch when people can’t afford it.

A £276 increase in January would be the final straw for many people in the constituency I represent and for millions across the country.

The Prime Minister must commit now to stopping bills going up in January, starting with moving more costs off energy bills, properly funding a national home insulation scheme, clamping down on rampant profiteering by energy companies, and rapidly scaling up cheaper, cleaner energy.”

HOPE IS NOT JUST A SLOGAN, IT NEEDS TO MEAN REAL CHANGE

ZACK POLANSKI
LEADER OF THE GREEN PARTY

"Unlike his predecessor, we have a PM who talks like he gets it. But sadly like his predecessor he isn’t prepared to break from the powerful and wealthy interests that have created an inequality, affordability and a climate crisis.

Hope is not just a slogan, it needs to mean real change. The speech today had no wealth taxes, no rent controls, no water nationalisation and a strong hint of more North Sea drilling.

It is disappointing that we have a country ready to break from the last 40 years, a Labour government with the majority to do it, and yet what we see are more half measures, reannouncements and tinkering."

Public CONTROL is NOT public OWNERSHIP, and here's why We explain this and how Andy Burnham can deliver public ownership in our NEW REPORT Can you take just 2 mins now to send it to your MP? vist.ly/5k384
A Screenshot of a portion of We Own It's new report that says "Why public ownership rather than public control? Would you rather own your home than rent it? If so, you have some idea of the benefits of ownership rather than, say, rent controls. Ownership means you have an asset that increases in value over time, you are using your monthly mortgage payment for your own benefit and you have full control - you can paint the walls any colour you like. This is a household analogy that holds. When countries own public assets and services, they are wealthier, they can benefit from revenue streams from household bills and they have the real control that only ownership can provide."
