Democrats should find the courage to defend trans children—or at the very least, leave them alone. 523598
eon @eon.gay · 29/09/2026I was finally convinced to read Moby Dick and I'm almost finished with it, I feel like the book has flown by. I'm also reading An Artist of the Floating World by Kazuo Ishiguro for my book club. Both are a bit outside my norm, but that's good sometimes. 041
eon @eon.gay · 18/09/2026I didn't have a PlayStation, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't that. Also I do remember it was a paper back book and not a compact disc - read only memory 000
eon @eon.gay · 18/09/2026The book was definitely targeted at like tween/early teen readers. If any of this sounds familiar, do you remember the book title? 110
eon @eon.gay · 18/09/2026It was written in the second person, and I remember the back cover (or maybe it was on the front cover) described it as being an intesnse "you are there" style. It was the first book I ever read with second person narration. 110
eon @eon.gay · 18/09/2026Inspired by the book mystery from this video, I'm gonna share my mystery book that I still have not been able to find. I read it for a book report in 8th grade. It was about a spy for the allies in France during WWII. youtu.be/kEiz_qBkCpIyoutu.beI spent 25 years looking for this book.YouTube video by acollieralso 110

eon @eon.gay · 14/09/2026I find they actively work against me keeping interest in something. When wordle fist came out, i managed a streak of something like 160 days or so. My streak broke because I simply forgot to play one day, and I immediately lost interest in playing wordle ever again. 010
eon @eon.gay · 11/09/2026I was in robotics class in high school, the varsity boy's basketball coach came in to tell us, we went into the next room over so we could turn on the tv and watch the news. Most of the rest of the day was spent watching the news as far as I remember. 101
eon @eon.gay · 10/09/2026What gets me is that people like this don't seem to realize that we're not figting for any new rights for trans people, we're fighting not to lose the rights we've had for decades 020

eon @eon.gay · 04/09/2026This thread just makes me think of the "proof" that all natural numbers are interesting. You can "prove" it since the natural numbers are well ordered, but "interesting" here is actually subjective, just like "best" is in the thread. Couching your feelings in math doesnt make them objective. 020

eon @eon.gay · 28/08/2026This feels like the pattern of stream viewers with atrocious vibes when the streamer says, "don't do [thing]" and then they decide "I'm going to do [thing], but as a joke, streamer will love it". And then they're shocked when streamer does not, in fact, love it 1100
eon @eon.gay · 28/08/2026I have backed up exactly one (1) website locally. It was site hosting speedrun info run by someone who was kicked out of the community and I was worried the site was not going to stay up and I didn't us want to lose all the info that was still relevant. 010

eon @eon.gay · 20/08/2026This is all anecdotal, but I feel like there's a parallel between putting in the work and learning (as measured by exams). Simply getting the homework answers either from "ai" or from office hours is not putting in the work. There are no shurtcuts to learning 5/5 1111
eon @eon.gay · 20/08/2026Then the midterm rolled around, and I'm pretty sure I ended up with the highest score in the class, in the mid-90s iirc - the exam problems were very similar to the homework problems. 4/5 130
eon @eon.gay · 20/08/2026I don't have exact figures, but I typically spent a few hours on each assignment. I also would score around an 80 on the homework, but a lot of other students were getting 100s. The professor would go over the homework in class and this would be when I would learn where I had made my mistakes. 3/5 130
eon @eon.gay · 20/08/2026Apparently, the professor would just give out the homework answers if you went to his office hours. I never went, but multiple other students confirmed this. This was a 400 level undergraduate course, and I found the homework to be pretty challenging. 2/5 130
eon @eon.gay · 20/08/2026Seeing this plot homework scores vs exam scores for "ai" and no "ai" use just reminds me of my number theory course in college... A short thread about learning and effort 🧵1/5 183
