mom was also in the '89 quake while pregnant with me, literally escaped a collapsing building and managed to make it out of the city before the roads closed due to the damage. mom would later go on to be in the middle of two more major earthquakes in California. i'm not alone in being cursed!!!

mom used to take me to work with her when i was a baby. she couldn't one day, and on that day she got in a huge car accident. she told me the damage to her car was so bad that there's no way i would've made it. so, uh, add "Final Destination" to the curse list

around the same time i had c. diff (a stomach bacteria w/ a weird full name) due to an antibiotic i'd been prescribed. told my girlfriend at the time and she straight up said i was lying bc according to her if i really had c. diff i was going to die. i really had c. diff and i, in fact, did not die

about 15 years ago i went to a lego store for the first time and within a couple minutes of being in there i could feel my throat closing up to the point where i couldn't breathe. if i hadn't gotten out immediately i probably would've suffocated. i still don't know what happened.
