Going to be honest, I find critiques like these around Persona (and lot of JP media, TBH) more than a little strange, if just because they seem to be expecting not just a creator to give an "answer" on how to fix society, but for that answer to be expressed as a unilateral good.

Sonic is such a fascinating oddity of a franchise to me specifically because it, by all logical reasons, should not exist. Not in the sense of a miracle, but because the very practical realities should dictate it died literal decades ago, and yet it keeps on existing entirely on fans wishing such.

sayolara discourse is funny bc like, I think people are entitled to have opinions on it and its ending, but it feels like a lot of its criticisms were because it failed some sort of deranged "yuri bechdel test" that's implicitly understood by people who are overly invested in explicit representation
