This is the clearest possible example of how trans exclusion harms women's rights. This conference hosted important discussions about a whole range of critical issues, but its decisions were devalued by the fact that the party capitulated to the threat of lawfare. Transphobia harms all women.

It really sets in stark relief the asymmetry of coverage of the "debate" over trans and women's rights across our media. On the GC side court losses are reported as wins, racism is glossed over and hate is endlessly sane-washed. Meanwhile successes on the pro-trans side are met with silence or lies.

There are two ways to sort this - perhaps BOTH need to be implemented. By far the best is to introduce short primary legislation to restore the position of trans people in the Equality Act. The second is to recognise that the promotion of womens’ (or anyone’s) rights is a matter for all.

This is the most fucked up and immediately harmful policy decision I think I've ever seen in adult trans healthcare in the UK, and that's saying something. The Welsh Gender Service is one of the best in the country. It is widely praised by the patients it helps. That is why it is being targeted.
