The Ebola outbreak has intensified dramatically since early September, N Kivu is now accounting for nearly 40% of all newly confirmed cases nationwide, up from 24% at the end of August. Cases in Beni are growing exponentially according to MSF. But still no action from governments.

Herein lies one of the biggest recurring, and escalating, issues with hostile anti-asylum policies, they don't tackle gangs. Instead they penalise the victims of gangs. Have you looked up the last couple of nights? The moon has been very bright. The moon is always bright in Kenya, but here in Argyll there is often so much cloud I forget the moon is even there. Not so over this last full moon period however, which has coincided with a spell of good weather.

Rich countries take scenes like this for granted in their schools. Of course there is time to play and experiment with art materials. It is regarded as an important part of early childhood education. Yet it is almost completely lacking in most schools in poor countries. Could there be a link?

They drilled for oil in the Chalbi Desert in northern Kenya in the 80s. They found no oil but left behind a 40 year legacy of cancer and unexplained livestock death. BP is using all its power to avoid responsibility and the Kenyan Government simply ignores it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgiI...

These are the 30 women killed since 2020 in Northern Ireland, all by white men 21 killed in their homes by men they knew. The youngest 20, the oldest 82 21 were mothers, 4 were killed with their children in the home. Two were pregnant Nobody rioted over their murders www.bbc.com/news/article...

Already this year a town in northern Kenya, Mandera, has recorded the highest ever June temperature in the country. Now we have an El Niño, and while climate changes make the impacts less predictable, we can be fairly sure it's just going to get hotter.

Laikipia, Kenya. Both these photos were taken yesterday, about 50m apart. One area was fenced 6 months ago, the other open to communal grazing. In much of Kenya's rangeland, land restoration doesn't need complex or expensive action. You just need to keep the livestock off. #landrestoration
