We’re proud of all the work that went into this site and really hope it will be useful to others. Shoutout to Lydia Emery, Amaya Mitchell, and my many amazing students at Carleton College (especially Khava Gillespie, who spearheaded the website setup, fine-tuning, and maintenance processes).

The barriers addressed on the site are informed by a study of researchers that we (@lydiaemery.bsky.social, Amaya Mitchell, and I) conducted (more on this to come!).

I know a lot of researchers have expressed that they want to make their samples and methods more diverse and inclusive but have found it hard to do. The goal of the site is to curate the field's collective wisdom on these issues in an easy-to-navigate resource hub.

For example, are you unsure how to approach recruitment of marginalized populations? The site curates resources to help. This is just one of many barriers the site curates resources to help you navigate. You can see more at psychgrail.com/resources!
A screenshot from the psychgrail.com website. Under the heading "How can I effectively recruit participants from marginalized backgrounds?" are several subheadings that redirect users to different pages with more resources. These subheadings include "Recommendations for reaching participants who are reluctant to participate in research due to stigma, vulnerability, or mistrust", "Recommendations for reaching participants in lower socioeconomic status contexts," "Recommendations for reaching racially diverse and underrepresented racial groups," "Recommendations for reaching LGBTQ+ populations," "Recommendations for developing effective recruitment materials," and "Readings and recommendations related to building community research partnerships."
