want to hear about your experiences working with students who
have word-level reading difficulties including dyslexia.

What is the purpose of the research?

• We want to build a better understanding of Maryland special education
professionals’ screening, assessment, and intervention practices for students with
word-level reading difficulties including dyslexia.
• We will use this information to support educators and their students under
Maryland’s Comprehensive Literacy Plan

What will I do?

• Complete an anonymous online survey on your screening, assessment, and/or
intervention practices for students with word-level reading difficulties including
dyslexia
◦ Survey takes about 20 minutes
• Provide your name and preferred contact information if you are interested in
optional, follow-up focus group interviews to share your experiences providing
services for students with word-level reading difficulties and/or dyslexia

How do I qualify to participate?

You must....

• Be at least 18 years old and a special education teacher, speech-language
pathologist, or school psychologist who
• Currently works or worked in a PK-12 public or charter school in Maryland in the

To be clear, shutting down USDOE is pure hostility to kids with disabilities, families of low income, students that need financial assistance to afford college, and those counting on enforcement of civil rights protection preserve their well-being.
