Price of electricity from solar declined by 88% from 2009 to 2024. Solar was the most expensive at $496/MWh in 2009. By 2024 it had fallen to $60/MWh. It is now less expensive than gas combined cycle power. Only onshore wind at $49/MWh is less expensive.

We all knew that social security would be in trouble. Demographics don't lie. We need a big boost in productivity to take care of everyone. Hopefully autonomous vehicles mean fewer cars being produced to sit idle 90% of the time. That would allow our efforts to shift to robotics.

My fear is that centralized political power will militarize embodied AI. We're seeing some impressive feats in robotics and if that becomes part of a 'peace keeping' force, we could be in for bad times. We need to have serious conversations about our path forward. Economics is a big piece of it.

Another update: The City has discovered spreadsheets and the City Council approved the new invoicing method. The invoices are being sent by snail mail, but I'm getting an emailed copy too. It's like pulling teeth.

I kind of have mixed feelings about this. I think it's better to let men say that they aren't really looking for a relationship - just sex. That way, women who want a real relationship can steer clear of them. This shouldn't be happening in a professional setting though.
