Price of electricity from solar declined by 88% from 2009 to 2024. Solar was the most expensive at $496/MWh in 2009. By 2024 it had fallen to $60/MWh. It is now less expensive than gas combined cycle power. Only onshore wind at $49/MWh is less expensive.

Share of primary energy that comes from nuclear and renewables World Measured as a percentage of total energy supply. Renewables have been increasing as a percentage since around 2007/2008. It's now about 8% of the energy supply. Nuclear's share fell between 2001-2010 but stabilized around 2010.

The US energy use per person has been falling since roughly 2007. Russia and China's energy per capita has been steadily climbing. The World line is mostly horizontal at 20,000 kWh/person. India is the poorest of the group per capita at around 5,000 kWh/person, but has climbed slightly.

Cochise carried me and my niece today. I've ridden horses before -more English than Western. I've managed wiggling 5 yr olds. Never have I wrangled both at the same time. She refused to ride with the other adults. There is no higher praise than to be trusted by a shy kid. #horses #trailride #kids

Her telomeres were exceptionally short, and her blood and immune cells showed clear signs of aging. Yet her epigenetic age was approximately 23 years younger than her chronological age. She also had very low inflammation, protective genetic variants, and a diverse gut microbiome.

She followed a Mediterranean diet, ate plenty of yogurt, walked, gardened, read, played piano, slept well, and remained socially active too.

We can’t derive a longevity formula from one exceptional person, but I think her biology offers a fascinating glimpse of how aging and disease may become uncoupled.
