Thanks for the shoutout! I would not be doing what I do today without the mentorship of Dave McCauley. He was my freshman advisor, my researcher advisor, and my professor for Evolution and Biostatistics. He was brilliant, kind, and generous, and was a perfect example of how to be a great scientist.

Today, I introduced legislation to require that the minimum wage be a living wage. $25 an hour is what’s required for a full time worker to pay their bills, and we shouldn’t accept that full time work leaves people living in poverty.
