Labor organizer and practicing anarchist. Given my various identities I likely meet most of the NSPM-7’s guidelines to be a suspect person, and you probably do too: congratulations on being a criminal with me. She/her.

The idea that ambiguity in communication is what causes men to rape is another one of those fictions we indulge in as a society to obfuscate how sexual assault is more or less a game to men, how groups of men encourage and enable each other and how it forms the basis of their social standing.

hrc didn't used to move like this and there is a universe where they don't break for trans rights and instead become more of an lgb type of organization. happy & proud to be one of many lesbians who absolutely refuse to allow trans rights to be used as a wedge issue. it's all of us, actually

A reminder that Sam Harris is a fascist and white supremacist, and genocide denier. Facts don’t matter to him and he won’t debate actual academics and scholars because they’ll intellectually destroy him. He knows this so he hides like a feckless coward. Stop listening to him on anything.

you simply cannot have one without the other. there is no "Well, we could do just a little bit of prohibition" as thinking that is true is merely an acceptance of the farce justification by the united states to leverage control and power over latin america, along with squashing political dissidents.

sometimes i feel like people understand that the war on drugs is a failure across every front (# of drugs in country, # of drug users, utility of spending, millions dead, millions incarcerated, etc), but don't internalize that it necessitates entirely rethinking societal relationship to substances.

There's literally no part of Alito's jurisprudence or professed beliefs that has anything in common with religious liberty. It's very annoying he's allowed to use this euphemism like this
010
💀 Em-balmed Arcadia 💀 @emarcadia.bsky.social · 16h
Alito isn't defending the rights of Protestant doctors or Jewish nurses in Catholic-owned hospitals to carry out abortions in line with their individual religious beliefs. He's not protecting the rights of Sikhs and Muslims to practice without scrutiny from the US government.

That Kristol is making this point shows a sensitivity to how the right perceives rape—not as a crime but as a bonding exercise. Who do they worry about? Not the survivors, their own kids, or their spouse, but a son who might be accused. I'd agree that's mostly about declaring loyalty to misogyny.

And we face extremely similar media bias, our perspectives drummed out of legacy media and our stories left to be told by people that either overtly oppose us or exploitatively find us titillating.

Trans people specifically, queer people in general, share the struggle with sex workers. We are collectively maligned as gender and sexual deviants, targeted by the same religious bigots and pseudofeminist reactionaries. Our communities overlap and intertwine, our suppressions are often the same.

US lefties are somewhat uncomfortable confronting that a big part of the international rise of fascism has been powerful and influential networks of state actors. Like, the Russian state is actually a major problem, that's not just liberal self-soothing.

Surveying Abortion Providers
The data comes from a new survey of abortion providers analyzed by the pro-abortion Autonomy News (AN) which is self-described as "a new worker-owned reproductive rights and justice publication co-founded by Garnet Henderson and Susan Rinkunas," who "do not subscribe to traditional ideas about 'journalistic objectivity.”

I would point out that polarization is good in the current context. If a prominent political bloc in a country were to radicalize against pluralistic democracy one would hope that would lead to polarization as people try to stop them, rather than consensus and appeasement.

What this is likely to do is to get you to map politics onto the relationship you have with this other person. That's not going to give you an accurate understanding of politics, it will not make you a better or more honest political thinker.

💀 Em-balmed Arcadia 💀 @emarcadia.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
This is actually a recipe for inducing a particular ideological bias in yourself and reinforcing misunderstandings about the world. This framework makes you more prone to reflexive centrism, inordinately dismissive of non-consensus ideas, and leads to imagining agreement that doesn't exist.

💀 Em-balmed Arcadia 💀 @emarcadia.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
Even if you want to make this a purely individualistic consumptive issue you can still do things about everything you mentioned. You're the one that's saying that supporting one of the most influential English speaking bigots is like owning a phone...so maybe work on that too? Very odd
010
💀 Em-balmed Arcadia 💀 @emarcadia.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
And by the way, you can also do things about iPhones and Amazon and whatnot. This argument fails on every level because you could, say, only buy used phones and replace them as infrequently as possible, not subscribe to Amazon, etc. You're not totally helpless with those other things either.

"Actually nothing matters and there are no moral obligations because capitalism" isn't nuanced, and it's in fact decontextualizing the situation. Those words are not a Diagon Alley certified magic wand that suddenly makes your argument stronger.
