We hope everyone enjoyed Christopher Schell’s #ECBB2026 plenary as much as we have – it’s been a real eye opener on just how many levels we have affected the lives of urban animals. Historical redlining in the US is STILL not only affecting people, but biodiversity (and research data) as well 🤯😨

What does the film ANTZ have to do with actual ants? We explore themes of leadership, social hierarchy and gender in both ANTZ and Ants in our new Open Access article in Culture and Organization @biologyatyork.bsky.social www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
DVD cover image for the film ANTZ, showing the title, and two animated ant figures. One is male coded and waving at the camera, the other is female coded and is looking at the male coded ant. In the near background are a coin with 'OF AMERICA' visible around the edge, an apple, a bottle of orange liquid, all very large relative to the ants. There is also a flying wasp at the top of the image. In the distant background is the New York skyline.
