I feel like Bachman-Turner Overdrive oversold how easy it was to make a great living playing in a rock band. I got a second hand guitar and I can make sounds loud or mellow. But I’m still slaving in a job to get my pay. Is it that I didn’t get in with the right bunch of fellows? Is that it?

I found out they’re Sperzl tuners and their max is about 58. I’m Just going to order a set of 7 strings with a low 56-58 and that way I still have a full set for something else. And I’ll pollute the algorithm into thinking I’m really into Korn or some shit.

My wife was the Imagination Library coordinator for Knox County for many years. It is one of the things she’s most proud of, and she was the person who got those hospitals to get the IL signups in the newborn information packets. It’s impossible to understate how much good Dolly did for TN.

This country desperately needs a reckoning with toxic masculinity. It took me to my late 20’s to scrub all I’d been programmed with since birth, and now I’m now overwhelmed that I’m dealing with people my age who’ve never processed it because our culture doesn’t just ignore it, but rewards it.

True story: in elementary school I was recruited to play on a girl’s team because they had a 6’ girl that made the school tournament unfair. I was the only student that came close to her height, so I played in a girls basketball tournament and nobody GAF. Worth noting, my team didn’t win.
