UPDATE 🙏🏽 “As of 5:30pm the fire is 593 acres with 63% containment. All evacuations have been lifted except for 3000 to 3910 Hwy 176. Crews will be wrapping up back burn operations for the day soon and will resume tomorrow. Fire crews will continue to monitor the area overnight”

The Polk County #3910Fire is estimated at 400 acres and 0% contained. It’s been a hyperactive day for new wildfires in NC and much of the Southeast.

Ya’ll have completely destroyed the meaning of ‘BREAKING’ It’s the telephone game, repeated, reshaped, diluted until it means nothing. When everything is ‘BREAKING,’ nothing is. It still triggers panic, keeps us wired. When crisis becomes noise, we lose capacity for choice.
