When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

These are very good suggestions, but a few key ones are missing: attend library board mtgs and speak in favor (many are on zoom), donate $, and vote for measures and bonds to increase funding. Patrons have real power. Don't let a handful of bigots destroy your library.

Great thread that applies to us, too. We may be monsters, but we’re not, and this is key, monsters. For example, we recently saw a story which we felt did not criticise the protagonist’s behaviour regarding sexual acts with a young person nearly enough. Yes, it was horror. No, we will not run it.
