I am in the middle of one of the most profound depressions I have ever experienced. All my plans have dissolved. I had stream ideas that I can't bring myself to sit and do. My reviews are weeks behind my schedule. I'm angry at everything. It really is all I can do to get through, day to day.

Watched "And the Children Shall Lead" tonight in my slow working through Star Trek TOS. Apparently it's one of the worst of the show, but I dunno, I think there are worse ones - and certainly more dull ones. Whenever TOS tries to do vague space-horror I kind of enjoy it, just for being so kooky.

Really needed that game last night to drag me out of the bad mood I was in. Myra remains my favourite deck to play, and even scored a very rare win! Could definitely do with a fresh round of orders for her, but I fear I need to do a lot of spreadsheet admin for her spellcube 😅

Absolutely flabbergasted at the level of desperate AI defence in indie development subreddits. I'm sorry but it takes a staggering antipathy to not care about artistic integrity, environmental damage, data protection or privacy, or even just the right of a consumer to not want to play your slop.

So this game called "Dverghold" came across my Steam homepage. Interesting retro vibes, apparently collabing with a dungeon synth artist for the OST. The art was kinda tickling my AI-dar though, so I scrolled down to look for any disclaimers.

Hit the 40 hour mark in Trails in the Sky SC, at which point the game has said "oh do you awfully mind making your THIRD full circuit of the entire game world across the first game and this? Oh and do it on foot against endgame enemies would you?" This game is a monolith!

Adding the new Echo!Karn to my commander build queue, if only so I can finally build a deck with a minor Mishra theme to act as a foil to my Urza deck. Why Mishra? Well, because Echo!Karn was made by him! Admittedly the sprinkling of Phyrexia in the deck isn't EchoLore accurate but oh well 😅

The beginnings of a Moxfield decklist for Karn, Gilded Guardian.

1x Karn, Gilded Guardian
1x Mishra, Claimed by Gix // Mishra, Lost to Phyrexia
1x Mishra, Eminent One
1x Mishra, Tamer of Mak Fawa
1x Phyrexian Dragon Engine

"Karn, Gilded Guardian" 2/W 2/U 2/B 2/R 2/G

Vigilance, Trample
When Karn enters, draw a card for each color among other artifacts you control.

Got reviews backed up till December, so given I've got time to spare I thought I'd start up a long JRPG: Trails in the Sky SC. 18 hours in so far and it is an absolute belter. Blows the first out of the water in terms of writing and big plot moments. Really surprised how much more I like this one!

Level-5's descent into AI nonsense really hurts - this is just the very tip of the iceberg. They are well known now for not just using AI in promo images like this but also in-game; it's absolutely destroyed any interest I had in the new Layton game.

Love these Lands, this is gonna make rebuilding Sisay Superfriends so much cheaper; not only do I not have to run Shocks and Fetches, but I also get to have lands that can feasibly enter tapped and therefore help keep the power a bit down from where it used to be.
