Completely unsurprising, but also, what is happening when all the Waymos get stuck in a traffic jam of their own making and endlessly circle each other? Are the behind-the-scenes workers just messing around? (If so, good for them.)

This is not how “men behave”, it’s how predators behave. Also, if you know a potential boss will enquire about an applicant’s appearance, maybe consider steering your student AWAY from that job, instead of pushing her toward it?!

Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

The CBC NYE coverage is truly unhinged - the Vancouver feed is a half-empty roller rink in the PNE, a reporter in Regina just attempted an aerial dance move live on air, the NL feed closed with drunken sea shanties, and the co-host in Edmonton keeps putting on more jackets (he’s up to 10 layers)

When I was in high school, the local classical radio station KUAT hosted a show called Desert Voices, broadcast in Tohono O’odham. The show went off the the air when the Nation got their own station - which was great ofc, but a bit sad that it was no longer integrated into the “regular” programming.

Why Cancel Culture is
Fading
"Even when you take out the canines of a tiger, his heart remains that of a carnivore."
ROB HENDERSON
SEP 07, 2025The strategy relied on punishing the powerful to terrify the rest. In 2020, hundreds of scholars urged the Linguistic Society of America to strip Harvard professor Steven Pinker of honours. But Pinker understood the real target--it was a warning shot aimed at every graduate student, junior academic, and untenured professor watching from the sidelines, telling them to keep their mouths shut.
As Pinker memorably put it, the atmosphere resembled The Sopranos: "Nice career you've got there. It would be a real shame if something happened to it." Often the problem wasn't that people were being cancelled for expressing outrageous views, but that they were cancelled for expressing views that might very well be correct.

I've been living in Canada for almost 6 years now and as far as I can tell this is how Canadian geography works
Map of Canada that I've added red labels to. The three northern territories are collectively "THE NORTH". Alberta has a box drawn around it and it's labeled "Western Canada". Ontario and Quebec are circled together and labeled "Eastern Canada". There are question marks all over BC, SK, MB, NB, NS, PEI, and NL.

No use case for Al can replace a human. None. Nada.
Any use cases useful for business need a highly qualified person using Al. This includes coding and other problem-solving. So-called LM-based "agents" cannot work autonomously for anything useful. When they “work" together, the result is even worse.
At some point, I thought that translators and copy editors would lose their jobs entirely, and I was wrong. I'm working on a translation of my book from English to French and the dumbass cannot even respect the glossary that I gave it in the first prompt. And it becomes even dumber after 3-4 conversation turns.
Forget about "Al is taking our jobs" nonsense. Yes, Al does make us more productive in some domains and less productive in others. So, it's a tool that a human must learn to use and recognize cases when not to use it.
Such tools have been invented multiple times in our history. And all the time, they led to a more prosperous future for all of us.
