Usual deal. This is my personal friend and former World of Warcraft raid guild leader, Caz, who y'all helped pay February rent for three families. It's time to pay the rent for March. If you've hit your limit - I have - for donating, I simply ask that you spread the word. Thank you.

I pretty rarely vid a source more than once these days, but there's always room for more ST: Lower Decks vids!! I wanted to do an ensemble vid this time, & wanted to lean into the things I know @thingswithwings.bsky.social likes about it (mainly the chaos, the kinkiness, and the Voyager references)

Found out today that @sweeter.bsky.social made me an amazing The Traitors US vid for Festivids!! I adore the dramatically eerie vibes of this show and this vid captures them perfectly ❤️ archiveofourown.org/works/77509116

We have an update on Charlie’s newfound love of printing.

Charlie the orange cat lying on his side next to a black laser printer looking innocent while of paper are spilling out of the printer onto the floor.

I went from watching not very much tv over the past few years to watching ALL THE SHOWS AT ONCE & it feels like too much & not enough at the same time I think I would just like more time in the day to enjoy multiple hobbies (watching tv/movies, gaming, reading) AND do the necessary household chores

For the past several months I’ve been talking to @kuwdora.bsky.social about The White Lotus coming back, referencing something on the show, etc. thinking we had watched it together. After going along with it for all this time, she finally just told me she has never seen it 😂😂😂

Today @kuwdora.bsky.social & I went to Costco for the first time (I technically went once a few years ago but got overwhelmed immediately and did not last very long) It mostly consisted of us pointing to things that looked interesting and yelling, "oooh, [name of product]!"

I have been stressing out all evening over encountering the worst export problems I've ever had, and could only find temporary fixes for before it would go back to glitching. Friends, after 4 hours of panicking... I solved the problem by *restarting my laptop*

Still okay but worried about the strong winds coming back tonight and the high potential for more fires 😣 I think we will be okay, but I'm so sad for my city, and especially the folks who lost homes that have been in their families for generations. What a nightmare.

Just in case your elderly relatives are talking about it: there are no looters. It’s simply not happening

I had to drive older kitty to the vet yesterday (she had a health scare but is ok) and the amount of debris and uprooted trees in my 5 min drive was astounding. I had to cover her carrier in a blanket to protect her from the falling ash. We are several miles from the nearest fire, thankfully

elipie @elipie.bsky.social · 09/01/2025

Still safe but horrified

1180

elipie @elipie.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

Do not appreciate how much one of the fires grew during the four hours I slept, but we are still safe so far. Keeping a close eye on things, ready to leave if we have to but I hope it doesn’t come to that. Worried about the roads and the kitties. Scared and tired but thankful we are ok so far

2170

elipie @elipie.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

We are safe from the fires for now, but prepared to evacuate if needed. Hopefully we won’t need to, but hard to think about sleeping when we have no idea where fires will break out and how quickly they’ll spread. Winds are pretty intense - a few trees nearby got uprooted and transformers are blowing

3140

elipie @elipie.bsky.social · 10/11/2024

my therapist suggested i listen to reiki healing music and i was worried about a different sound frequency hurting my kitties' ears, so i found reiki healing music *for cats* and it's still very soothing to me, so we all win

ADHD reading: when a character goes to a beach, and it reminds me I want to get a beach umbrella, so I pause the book to online shop for beach umbrellas for 20 minutes, then don’t actually buy the umbrella, because now I’m not sure if I want one for a beach chair or for when I’m sitting on the sand

i've been feeling incredibly bored lately, not because i don't have plenty of things to do (both things i want & don't want to do) but because my brain cannot commit to anything. i wanted to read a book and stared at my collection for 30 min and then started 5 different books before settling on one

VidUKon really filled my cup this weekend. I've been pretty much out of fandom for the past few years due to depression, but I've missed this community a whole lot and really enjoyed chatting with friends (new & old) again. I've dipped in and out a bunch but I truly think I'll be around more now ❤️

Another very LA post from me: I hit Oscar traffic on my way to watch the Oscars at my friend's apartment (I usually have to drive through Hollywood to get there so this time I had to drive all the way around it, which added an extra 25 min due to both distance and additional traffic!)

So you know how Star Trek fans feel when they see references to the other series in Lower Decks? Like, it's still funny and accessible to people who haven't seen the other Treks, but there's a special treat for those who have? That's exactly what it's like living in the valley & watching Cobra Kai
