What a really rather wonderful late afternoon meeting with the commercial operations manager of a local business. They want to cut their energy costs but are bamboozled by people trying to sell them a product. It seems some straight forward advice is needed. Which is what I do! #wood #trees

I've been looking at our energy data 🤓 Our fridge freezer uses 30kWh a month, 360kWh pa. Cost £25ish That’s enough electricity to drive an EV 1,250 miles Or the same power as driving from Kent to Scotland & back🏎️ Everyday energy suddenly feels a lot more interesting when you look at it this way

Never ceases to amaze me - over the last 30 days, 31% (112kWh recuperation /363 total consumption) of the energy used to drive the car HAS ALREADY BEEN USED TO DRIVE THE CAR! As we slow down, the motors turn into generators with the electricity being stored in the battery to reuse. GENIUS!

Reducing outgoings can be just as powerful psychologically as increasing income Lower monthly direct debits simply feels better. Using a pension or ISA to effectively buy an income (by reducing outgoings) is a very powerful concept. The idea of an “energy pension” is a fascinating one.

Home batteries save £100s pa They also cost £1,000s That’s changing You can now lease a battery over 10 years with no upfront cost, from just £35pm Yes, T&Cs apply so a lease won't be suitable for all, but alongside 0% finance its good to see more options becoming available.
