Two weeks sifting through the Wiener Library's archives on an @ehri-project.eu Conny Kristel Fellowship come to an end. Thanks to their vast collections I’ve found new materials for my PhD on private postwar photopraphy and dove deep into German-Jewish refugee history in England.

This paper slip contains a declaration that a woman called Milica Glišić was removed from the “Gypsy list”. Milica was a 25-year-old Roma with a young son. With 600 other Roma women, she was interned in a Belgrade camp in 1941. The small note saved Milica’s life. www.ehri-project.eu/podcast-epis...

5 August 1907 | A Pole Adam Kopyciński was born in Osielec Podhalański. In #Auschwitz from 8 January 1942. No. 25294 He played piano & lyre in the camp orchestra. In May 1944, he became its conductor. Liberated in Ebensee. After the war the director of the opera in Wrocław.
