Halifax is lovely this time of year. A real treat.

White blooms on a shrub are shown in the foreground. In the background, the grass lawns of Halifax Public Gardens are a vivid green in the afternoon sunlight. The mature trees growing throughout the park are showing their first signs of new growth. Not shown: huge seagull with boundary issues.

A view from the 5th floor of Halifax’s Central Library. In the foreground are letters printed on the window, shown in reverse. They don’t have an obvious meaning, they are just letters to me. Through the window, the green rooftops of the library are shown, with the city skyline, harbour, and neighbouring Dartmouth visible. Birds and insects could be seen among the rooftop greenery as I took in the view. It is a thoughtful building and worth visiting.

There’s some people, as well. There were a steady stream of visitors, a diverse mix of people from all over. The Garden’s visitors seemed to be respectful of their surroundings.

A variety of life was present, especially around the ponds.The grounds appeared to be home to an assortment of ducks and at least one turtle, to the delight of a group of children. Grackles could be heard making their weird ‘rusty gate’ noise as they foraged about. Crows and squirrels bickered intermittently.
