And then we need to use our power to create a federal law outlawing gerrymandering. And if it has to be a constitutional amendment, then that’s what we need to do!

It’s so weird how every time our dear leader is wildly unpopular for being a terrible human being, there is an attempt on his life due to laughingly lax security…

Medicare for All would save $450B a year. Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity. Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall. It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford. It’s about priorities.

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.

They can’t win through their disastrous policies, so they try to win via disenfranchisement. Pathetic and disgusting.

Rather than admit their mistake and let this poor man go home to his family, they double down and villainize him for absolutely no reason but wounded pride and unadulterated cruelty.

It also provides ongoing slave labor due to a loophole in the 13th amendment. There is exploitation of people - mostly black men and men of color - from profiting off of incarceration itself plus the labor the prisoners provide. It’s nothing short of ongoing state-sanctioned slavery.

I don’t care who is on the Epstein list from a political perspective, we just need to know. We deserve to know the names of those in public service that are participating in or covering up the abuse of girls and women. And there needs to be consequences whether you like their politics or not.

And if there are Democrats on it, we deserve to know that as well. We shouldn’t be protecting any of these people regardless of whether we agree with them politically or not!

Senate Ds did fight every step of way, made the bill toxic, forced Tillis to retire, made them vote in broad daylight as bill got worse, nixed some truly awful parts. They need more members. In 2026, vote out every R. That is what the lesson is here.

Perhaps the GOP should do something crazy like, I don’t know, actually negotiating a bipartisan bill that doesn’t fuck over the working class to further enrich people who couldn’t spend all their money in 10 generations 🤷🏻‍♀️

Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.

I wouldn’t be upset if they were trash this year resulting in Tomlin leaving and an early draft pick for (hopefully) a future franchise QB. It’s going to hurt rooting for a team led by Aaron Fucking Rodgers anyway

We need to ditch the electoral college and institute run-off elections to allow for legitimate alternative parties and that the ultimate winner has more than 50% of the vote.

Raising children accounts for a 17% loss in lifetime wages for women and poverty is disproportionately experienced by single moms. Let's recognize on Mother's Day just how important universal basic income is to supporting all moms and recognizing all their unpaid work that's essential to society.

Because we have no other way to earn enough to live and raise a family, and no other support for caring for children while we work. It’s no wonder why people are choosing not to have kids any more. If nothing else, Covid taught us that it’s an impossible task to do so.

They’d struggle with this as I did. To me, this didn’t demonstrate a lack of respect for how difficult teaching is. It doesn’t mean my job is more important, by any means, it showed the inconvenient truth that we do not support working families in this country. Yes, school is learning and daycare…

As I explained to the frustrated teachers, I am very qualified at what I do, but that is not educating children. In addition, I had my own full time job that I had to keep if I wanted to pay the mortgage and feed these kids. I’m guessing if I asked a teacher to do my job WHILE doing their job…

But at the time, I was in a dual-income household with four young children. As the woman, apparently educating the kids while working full time (I was also the primary breadwinner) was my job according to my (now ex) spouse and the kids’ teachers. I simply couldn’t do it…

I just saw a claim that parents lost their shit during Covid because they didn’t realize how difficult it was to teach children and now they’ve lost all empathy and respect for teachers. It is possible that this is the case for some people and I do think teachers are underpaid and under respected…
