Who should own analytics: IT, the business or both? www.cio.com/article/4229... It’s an age-old question. But it generally has an easy answer in my experience: 1) IT owns the platform 2) LOBs own the insights/KPIs 3) The entire business owns + shares the data

Who should own analytics: IT, the business or both?
Centralize analytics, and it gets slow. Decentralize it, and it gets messy. The answer is a shared seam that keeps data and decisions connected.

Climate.us is officially live! After NOAA ended Climate.gov’s day-to-day operations in 2025, former team members built Climate.us to carry that work forward. Their explanations and graphics have always stood out to me as clear, accessible, and transparent. I’m really looking forward to this reboot.

Growing up in Tennessee (long ago), it seemed like only a matter of time before coal (for sure) and other fossil power would be phased out for a combination of #nuclear and #hydroelectric. Tens of GW of new fossil power in 2026 feels like a betrayal... 🤦‍♂️ www.utilitydive.com/news/tva-pro...

SCOOP: So remember Dialog, Peter Thiel's private society that doesn't have a public website and no public list of members? I (along with a number of other journalists) have just been tipped off that embedded in the code of their closed off website there IS what seems to be a list of some members.

There’s been a lot of talk in this race about what makes a "real man." A man does what’s right when no one is watching. He upholds his commitments to his family and neighbors. He doesn’t lie, cheat, & steal his way through life. Real men serve others. Weak men serve themselves.

That seems to match my intuition. Everybody running their own 1GW+ power plant doesn't seem like a path to long term sustainability for anybody. Eventually, their shareholders will start asking whether power generation is really/still a business differentiator... www.utilitydive.com/news/large-l...

And, there you have it. Unless she's wrong about what's happening or why, that's a #DataCenter story that will resonate with people and be cited over and over as part of data center backlash efforts. Will every data center project result in such harms? No. Could many? Yes. Could they do better? Yes!

I am so tired of all the journalists talking about the trauma of their near death experience this weekend. He was a full floor away, sudbdued by security doing their job. Lets talk about the trauma of school children who have had actual near death experiences, guns pointed at them, friends killed.
